Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery values the health and safety of the families we serve and that of our employees. We want to reassure our families and visitors that Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery continues to take appropriate steps to protect everyone that enters our doors during the coronavirus threat, also known as COVID-19.

In addition to following CDC and Government Guidelines for lowering the transmission of the coronavirus, we are increasing our efforts by:

  • Continuing to monitor all of our disinfectant and cleaning efforts with increased efforts on high-use areas.
  • Not accepting walk-ins, yet meeting on an appointment only basis
  • Encouraging families to provide as much information we need via electronic communication, such as email, phone or fax, prior to face-to-face meetings in the funeral home to limit any risks of exposure to COVID-19.
  • While conducting funeral services, memorial services, burials, interments, inurnments and entombments in our funeral home and cemetery, we suggest limiting the attendance of graveside or crypt side events to a small group, preferably family only. Woodlawn does offer live streaming of services for those not able to attend.
  • The current state requirement is that family units are seated at least six feet apart and guests/visitors shall be seated on every other row when attending indoor services.

Through this unusual time, we continue to encourage our families and visitors to do their part to combat this virus. Stay at home when you or anyone at home are sick. Wash your hands frequently for at least 30 seconds. Cover your mouth with tissues when coughing or sneezing. Avoid people who are sick with respiratory symptoms and touching your mouth, eyes or nose with your hands. And unfortunately, refrain from handshakes, hugs and kisses until this time passes… and it will!

The coronavirus threat does indeed create a very unusual and complex situation, especially when losing a loved one. We promise that our efforts to continue our tradition of compassionate service and care will not be hampered by this current crisis. We will get through this together!
